3 Tips For Optimizing Your YouTube Channel
Video has taken over the internet and social media. Therefore, to be successful in digital marketing, it is important to participate in making videos, even if you only focus on short-form videos. YouTube—the original online video platform—is a great place to start. Here are 3 tips for optimizing your YouTube channel.
#1: Custom Profile Picture & Banner
To look legitimate and help support your brand, it is important to have a profile picture and banner. These do not have to be 100% custom. For example, you may already have a branded profile picture on Instagram, this is a perfectly appropriate YouTube profile picture. The banner may require more work. The dimensions are extremely specific, so at the very least, you will need to resize or redesign certain aspects to make it work.
#2: Add Social Media Links
This step is easy to miss but can be extremely helpful for engaging visitors and taking them to your other social media profiles. Once added, the links will appear as icons in the bottom right of the banner. This makes them stand out and is an extremely easy way to connect all of your social media together.
#3: Pay Special Attention To The ‘About This Channel’ Tab
When someone comes across one of your videos—whether full length or a short—they may become curious about who you and your practice are. They will then navigate to the About tab. While this information does not need to be extensive, it should be enough to provide authority about who you are and your credentials. The section will also contain a link to your website.
