You then insert a link to your website to earn a backlink. However, this strategy is beginning to become outdated. Let’s look at why guest posts are no longer ideal for getting backlinks.

First, the highest quality blogs and websites rarely accept guest blogs, especially from a small business or website. Thus, you usually have to settle for a mid-range authority website. While this is okay, it is not ideal in all cases. Additionally, when guest blogging en masse, this can flag Google’s spamming algorithms and automatically backfire.

This is not to say that guest blogging does not have merit anymore, it is simply not meritable as a way to earn backlinks. It is best to organically obtain backlinks through a variety of sources by having good content that genuinely interests people.
